ROLI Blocks wireless is a "lego" style instrument for making music. It was brought to the surface a couple of months ago by a UK company with a desire to create a device that can be arranged on the fly with different configurations. The system consists of three wireless devices: the illuminated touch and pressure-sensitive Lightpad Block, the Live Block, which features controls for performance and the Loop block, which adds additional recording controls. After the initial success, the team recently revealed an update which will allow them to work with software including Ableton Live, GarageBand and Bitwig Studio.
That enables users to manually set configurations as they'd like to have them. In a matter of seconds, one pad can turn into a mixer, synth control, drum sequencer, you name it.
