Nemanja Petkovic, who creates music under alias Coeus, has recently released his first track in 2018. Despite only being in his early twenties, this young Belgrade-based producer has already managed to build a catalogue of solid releases which quickly projected him amongst top local prospects.
While his early material was heavily influenced by the jackin' UK sound, his latest instalments bring out a bit more organic sounds with smooth progressive melodies. We could already sense the change in his path by listening to his last years "Enigma" EP which he created together with our head honcho Alex Ranerro and his latest track "Palladium" only follows this direction. The track was released via Hosted imprint as a part of "Room Mates #001" VA which includes tracks from Remcord, Mark Hoffen, Juan (FR), BOg, Innellea, Ivory (IT) and Shazse.
Coeus - Palladium (Original Mix)
While all tracks together work as a stable first release, we'll focus a bit more on tune "Palladium". The organic-based groove built from firmly processed bongos and percussion sounds is surrounded by subtle silky shaker hits which produce rhythm patterns with of-sided hats. The background pads are gradually bringing up the tension throughout the tune whilst processed arp sounds adds a touch of roughness. Soft oriental vocal cuts work as a balance to the rest of the tune introducing a pinch of human emotions.
Coeus has surely taken a different approach with his music and we're eager to see where this journey will take him. His latest release "Palladium" is already available via online digital shops and you can purchase it HERE.
