Our one year anniversary is slowly approaching and for this lovely milestone, we've decided to bring the French house master Phil Weeks to our Slovenian residency at Klub K4 in Ljubljana. Phil is also an owner of a truly classical house music imprint, Robsoul Recordings. The latest release on the French label comes from another Parisian talent - D'Julz, who's been a regular guest on Robsoul and also other established labels such as 20/20, Get Physical and Ovum Recordings just to mention few.
D'Julz - Foxxy EP
The "Foxxy" EP is a three track package which is available booth digital and vinyl. "Ze Fox" is A-sided tune with a simple structure and a lovely groove. The slightly generic jackin' rhythm is combined with phased risers and male vocal and that gives the tune an interesting vibe. The B1 record "Big Kid" has a smooth deeper vibe which is lead by warm soft synths. The groove has a solid swing especially on hi-hats which gives the track its mood. "Next" is the last tune on the release and it's a proper groover.
The stabby bassline gives it a gentle push while background pads shift the track further into the deeper area. The drum elements are sitting well in the mix and they're giving the track a pleasant balance and a steady flow. Thi EP is a fine mixture of tunes that will work nicely on the dance-floors around the globe. All tracks have a "tool" kind of feeling and they could suit either peak time slots or even daylight pool party vibes.
