Ljubljana’s local festival Urbano Dejanje will be celebrating its second birthday in less than two weeks. After last year’s success, the organizers wanted to go a little bit bigger, sharper, but at the same time staying true to their roots. The festival will start on 8th August and will last for a whole week, ’till the 14th August at Tobačna district, where ZOO club is located. The concept involves different musical genres, each dedicated to a different day of the week. We are hosting our very first conference there, which we named CONNCTD. We invited some local and international industry professionals, artists, label and music managers to speak about their experiences. It’s time to announce our very first guest speaker.
Marjan Lopuh is an omnipresent industry professional with years of experience who loves cats and also listens to heavy metal. He has given us so many valuable advice before, and our conference would not exist if it wasn't for him. The idea of connecting artists and people of the industry for a conference-like gatherings has been Marjan's vision for years and we took the initiative to turn his ideas into reality. We are really thankful to have been able to get him to be one of our guest speakers at our conference and simply cannot wait to hear his thoughts on some of the topics. Marjan's passion for dance music stems from a 10-year career as an owner of an established music management agency Flow Management, working with interesting DJ names, clubs, festivals and labels worldwide. He was responsible for detailed media plans and media buyout plans inside eastern Europe for several years for projects such as We Love Sundays (at Space, Ibiza), Ultra Europe, Barrakud Festival and Carl Cox at Space. Since 2012 he's been an active member of the techno imprint Intec Digital, owned by Carl Cox and Jon Rundell, where he oversees the release schedule and prepares releases for distribution, manages promotion, coordinates artworks and masterings and also handles their contracts.
Since 2012 he has also been handling a large portion of bookings, hospitality and press for the biggest and most renowned club in Slovenia – Ambasada Gavioli. He was instrumental at managing UMEK's releases and artist albums on key labels (several nr. 1 Beatport hits) and has been handling communication with publishing company between 2010 and 2012. In all of the years of Marjan's career, he's handled some of the most important bookings for international artists and brought them to several venues and clubs he works closely with. Some of the names included respected artists like Paul Kalkbrenner, Laurent Garnier, Umek, Sharam, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Joris Voorn. Adriatique and many more. Marjan is working for Spanish based management company Magnum Bookings where he represents their full roster for the territory of eastern Europe.
