In Depth: Labyrinth Open 2018

Labyrinth Open festival will happen for the second year in a row at a beautiful seaside city Omiš in Croatia. The festival, which will last from 11th till 14th July, will host some of the world's hottest DJs and acts such as Stephan Bodzin Live, Dubfire, Pan-Pot, Joris Voorn, Jan Blomquist, Len Faki, Kollektiv Turmstrasse and many others. With a combination of great music, a vast variety of other activities and breathtaking landscape, Labyrinth Open is definitely a festival that will be one of the favourites of the upcoming festive season in Croatia.

The Balkan area has been one of the most popular territories when it comes to summer’s festival action. The leading force in this area is definitely Croatia and it’s beautiful landscape. Hundreds of miles of stunning beaches with crystal clear sea, beautiful islands, incredible weather and affordable prices are just some of the reasons why this region became the home for numerous world-wide known festivals. Sonus, Hideout, Love International, Defected Croatia, Dimensions and Outlook are just some of the festivals that welcome thousands of party-goers each year.

Most of these events are spread across few spectacular venues such as Tisno in Sibenik, Zrce beach on Pag island and Fort Punta Cristo in Pula. It's not a coincidence that we often hear that Croatia is the new Ibiza when it comes to partying during summer days and we surely can see some similarities. So as Croatia and their long list of festivals became widely recognized as a go-to destination, there’s a huge yearly growth of tourists coming in from all around the globe.

With demand for partying rapidly growing, there’s also a bunch of new festivals born almost every year. Some of them are smaller more intimate while others want to compete with the big ones. Somewhere in between, there's a festival that started last year and wants to develop even bigger this year.

Labyrinth Open is a festival located at a small city Omiš, just a half an hour ride from Croatia’s second biggest city, Split. LABO will celebrate its second birthday this year and it’ll last from 11th till 14th July. The organizers of this unique festival have roots in Belgium and in 2017, they’ve decided to create an abroad experience focused on music, food, art and technology. Their goals were quite optimistic and based on their first edition, which brought DJ’s such as Amelie Lens, Rodhad, Gregor Tresher, Radio Slave and Stephan Bodzin, LABO is in it for the long run.

This festival is unique for various different reasons. Besides their strong line-up, LABO offers a lot of other daily on-site and off-site activities that will keep their attendees occupied. Food market will offer diverse cultural culinary experience while sports enthusiasts will enjoy the zip line ride and windsurfing workshops. For those who prefer relaxing before going partying there’ll also be yoga classes and massages. A special part of the festival includes the educational seminars that will enable guests to listen and to learn from the music industry finest managers, producers and DJ’s. The music conference part of the festival is set for Friday the 13th July during the day.

If you’re interested in the conference or other activities, you can read more about them HERE.

The main part of the festival will start every day at 5 PM and will last till 4 AM. There will be three different stages; the main one, the island stage and the creative stage. There isn't a proper festival without classic boat parties. There will be two and both of them will be happening on Thursday hosted by ALTAVOZ & DIEP crews. On Tuesday, there will be a special extra event held on a secret location for all guests that’ll be staying at beach houses. And who’ll be actually performing at Labyrinth Open this year? Well, we suggest you take a look for yourself at lineup list below.

Let just say that the people behind LABO did their best to enable guests a lot of different options when it comes to accommodation and tickets. The price for a basic four-day festival ticket is currently set at 129€ while each boat party will cost you extra 25€. The promoters didn't forget the local Ex-Yu guests and they've curated special offers just for them. So for all local visitors, a four-day festival ticket currently costs only 59€, which is a decent discount and a lovely gesture from LABO. They've also offered a few different accommodation possibilities which range from basic multi-guests beach houses to premium beach houses, the ones with jacuzzi and premium lodges. Besides the more comfy options, there's also a "classic festival" tent alternative, which normally suits the more energetic ravers.

With their second edition, Labyrinth Open is still very fresh festival and therefore a little bit more interesting. It seems like the organisers have managed to hit the perfect combination of great music played by superstar DJ's and other activities that will keep the guests entertained and engaged. The breathtaking location only makes the whole festival even more desirable. As SolvdMag co-hosts one of the stages on Wednesday, we'll clearly be there and we really can't wait to get lost in the music and the vibe of Labyrinth Open.

SolvdMag is throwing a Labyrinth Open preparty at Klub K4 in Ljubljana on 19th May with After Affair as the main guests of the night. Check out more about the event HERE.
