Vinyl Speed Adjust with EP on Visionquest

Vinyl Speed Adjust are a Bucharest based DJ, producer and record label owner duo. They managed to create a unique minimalistic sound that still holds the Romanian identity. As the pair refers to themselves, their music is a percussive emulsion, intertwined with an erosive nature of differentiated repetitions, precipitating a plurality of refined listening experiences. Their recent release was out via Visionquest imprint in early September in vinyl format.

The duo, who also owns Crystal Structure/VSA imprints, have produced a four-track solo for Visionquest which was founded by Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. "On and Off" is the opening record of the EP and it quickly introduces the club-friendly vibes. Smooth groove, hypnotic bass-line and mystical subtle melodics are glued perfectly with glitchy noises and textures that give this piece a character. The A2-sided tune "Blue Notes" holds a bit deeper yet minimalistic mood with warm bass which also works as a lead element.

"Noek" is the first theme on the B side. The rather basic drum pattern is layered by a bit more complex grooves and rhythms which moves in all direction and that gives this tune a nice drive. The last song on the record is entitled "Late Shuffle". This one opens a more relaxed atmosphere lead by a swingy groove and dynamic low end. The background contains mellow pads and ambient feel which certainly gives the track its charm.

A strong EP from Vinyl Speed Adjust proves that the duo is seriously becoming the next big things when speaking about underground electronic music. The "Back And Forth" EP is already available to purchase via your favourite wax dealer.
